The Tulip Information Centre came about by chance. A number of activities involving the tulip were created around the Tulip Festival in the Noordoostpolder. The tulip route had already been set up and more and more people were discovering the Noordoostpolder as a new tulip-growing area with large, colourful fields, Dutch skies and wide views. There were no catering facilities in the beginning, but visitors who were sometimes coming from far and wide wanted information, a cup of coffee and toilet facilities. These were first provided from the Becker family's living room but, before long, a room was fitted out especially for this purpose in the former bulb barn. This has grown into an attractive centre where visitors are given a warm welcome and can enjoy the lovely garden and more than 2000 varieties of tulips free of charge. A video film runs continuously and the assistants are able to tell you everything about tulips and activities in the area. The various routes are, of course, available here. There is a nice tulip package consisting of 2 x coffee/tea with cake and a lovely bunch of tulips for just € 7,50.

The Tulip information centre is located at the Wrakkenpad between Creil and Rutten. The Tulip Information Centre is only open during the Noordoostpolder Tulip Festival.
